Note: There is NO WAY for a flashback arrester to protect the ‘user’ of the Brown’s Gas, as the concentrated gas on the USER-SIDE of the FBA is vulnerable to any external flame or spark…
Like (it’s happened several times) someone is smoking as they inhale Brown’s Gas. Yeah I know, WHAT WERE THEY THINKING? And then they had the gumption to actually TELL ME they’d done it (I admire their integrity) 🙂
But it isn’t just smoking, any open flame that is too close (a candle caused one) or static electrical sparks (several from that) can ignite the gas. The ONLY thing that protects the user is NOT inhaling a combustible mixture (air with more than 4.7% hydrogen is combustible); that is WHY we have user-adjustable gas volume on the AquaCure.
Note: For those people who insist they want to use GLASS for the Drinking Water jar and think that this FBA will allow them to prevent explosions from shattering the jar and flinging glass shards like a hand grenade… DON’T DO IT! The risk of the Drinking Water jar gas exploding is very small, but it is NOT ZERO.
We sincerely believe in “First DO NO HARM”. Flying plastic is inconvenient. Flying glass is dangerous.
AND FYI there is NO NEED TO USE GLASS, because the water in the Drinking Water jar NEVER TOUCHES THE PLASTIC!
The inner surfaces of the Drinking Water jar almost instantly form a substance layer we call EZ Gel (See Prof. Gerald Pollack’s EZ Water). EZ stands for Exclusion Zone, because it EXCLUDES any impurities. Scientific study and testing has proven Brown’s Gas (but not hydrogen) significantly increases the EZ Gel layer. FAQ: Can the FlashBack Arrester be reversed to protect the user from explosions coming from the electrolyzer?
First, the FlashBack Arrester can’t be reversed.
Second, it doesn’t need to be. The AquaCure is DESIGNED to NOT have explosions (unlike the ‘competition’) AND there are already TWO ‘FlashBack arresters’ in place (the Humidifier and the Drinking Water jar). The gas combustion CANNOT go through either one, the water quenches the combustion.
Third, what REALLY PROTECTS the person inhaling is the gas volume control (which almost no one has and WHY you want an AquaCure…). If you control the gas volume so that (when mixed with air) there isn’t a combustible mixture, it doesn’t matter if there is a combustible mixture in the hose, there is NO combustible mixture in YOU!
This IS what I use to protect all my loved ones and customers.
This is WHY you don’t need a flashback arrester ‘as close as possible’ to the person inhaling…
This is also what protects the person inhaling from their EXHALED breath being combustible!
The Flashback Arrester really only protects the Drinking Water jar lid. The gas volume control protects the user!
